A ghostly storm resembling the witch appears in the air, summoning the cursed dead to arise as zombies, who chase the boys along with Neil, Norman's 17-year-old sister Courtney, and Neil's older brother Mitch, down the hill and into town.
Norman Babcock (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee) is the main protagonist of the movie ParaNorman. Norman is a 11 year old boy who has the ability to see and speak to the dead, inherited from his mother's side of the family, the Prenderghasts.
Courtney Babcock is the tritagonist of Laika's 2nd full-length animated feature film ParaNorman. She is a cheerleader and acts stereotypically snobbish and mean-spirited most of the time. Courtney resents Norman and when he says he can see the dead, she goes out of her way to prove he`s a liar.
Sandra Olivia Babcock (née Prenderghast) is Norman and Courtney 's mother and is the niece of Mr. Prenderghast, the daughter-in-law of Grandma Babcock, and is a descendant of Aggie.
Courtney is Norman's older sister and a cheerleader who tries to help him stop the zombie apocalypse. She has a crush on Neil's brother Mitch and a feisty relationship with Norman.
