10 de may. de 2023 · Geddy Lee is best known for playing a black 1972 Fender Jazz Bass, also known as “Number One”. He acquired it from a pawn shop in Michigan where he purchased it for roughly $200. Lee is known for being a devoted long-time player of both Fender and Rickenbacker brand bass guitars.
Inspired by the distinctive sound of Yes bassist Chris Squire, Lee then acquired a black Rickenbacker 4001 bass, which remained his main instrument from the 1970s up until the early 1980s. In 1998, Fender released the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, available in Black and 3-Color Sunburst (as of 2009).
12 de ene. de 2015 · Rickenbacker 4001. Years used: 1975-1984, 2007 & 2008. Geddy’s most famous Rickenbacker bass is a Jetglo 4001 that was built in the 1970s with a Badass II bridge. Geddy used this bass from their first tour in 1974 until the Grace Under Pressure warm-up tour in 1983.
