Aftersun is a 2022 coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Charlotte Wells in her feature directorial debut. Starring Paul Mescal, Frankie Corio, and Celia Rowlson-Hall, the film follows an 11-year-old Scottish girl on holiday with her father at a Turkish resort on the eve of his 31st birthday.
Paul Mescal ( Maynooth, 2 de febrero de 1996) es un actor irlandés. Inició su carrera en 2013 como actor de teatro apareciendo en numerosas obras en Dublín.
Starring. At a fading vacation resort, 11-year-old Sophie treasures rare time together with her loving and idealistic father, Calum (Paul Mescal). As a world of adolescence creeps into view, beyond her eye Calum struggles under the weight of life outside of fatherhood.
Mescal expanded to films with roles in the psychological dramas The Lost Daughter (2021) and God's Creatures (2022). His leading role as a troubled father in Aftersun (2022) earned him nominations for an Academy Award and BAFTA Film Award.
