Obrenovac was Serbian town which suffered the greatest damage by the unprecedented floods in May 2014. Most of the population has been evacuated to safety. Sudden surge of water from Kolubara river on May 15 devastated the town, killing at least 14 persons, with several persons still missing.

Obrenovac. The municipality of Obrenovac ia located in the middle of the Lower Kolubara basin, the wide valleys of the rivers Kolubara and Tamnava, reaching Šumadija in the east and the south, in the west it borders the Pocerina Mt., and on its northern side meanders the river Sava, close to Belgrade and its confluence with the Danube.
