I have been tring to automate unstoppable Copier to use for unattended backup process. I seek a way to completely disable shell integration within Unstoppable Copier 4.x. It sounds like an odd request, but for me, here is how Unstoppable copier is used: Using a flash drive, I will usually copy (NOT install) Unstoppable Copier to the desktop or the machine I will run it from, then I use it to copy the entire documents and settings folder or users folder to an external HDD.
Unstoppable copier, at least for me, skips files/folders that it does not have permission to read the contents of. The "System Volume Information" folder which contains the restore points, by default, is only readable/writable by the "SYSTEM" group, meaning not even an administrator would be able to access it without modifying permissions.
This is a limitation of Windows and Unstoppable Copier can be considered to be functioning normally, IMO. To work around this: Try running Unstoppable Copier as administrator. (ie, right click, "Run as Administrator") or run it from safe mode. If those don't work, then you will have to "take ownership" of the folder Unstoppable copier skipped.
Not sure if it's possible, but when using Unstoppable Copier to transfer files to/from a network drive, if connectivity to the drive is lost, UC just skips all the remaining files. Of course, you can simply run copy again and it will skip all the previously copied files, but for large numbers of files, it's a real pain.
